Influenced by stasis, relocation, and an insatiable urge to become one with fungus. KERUB's new EP "Hypernormalized" travels through an ill-fated cross-country relocation, pandemic longing, and the emotional toll one suffers when they dedicate themselves to nonsense. Frustrated but ever motivated, KERUB wishes to ask questions like "Will I be the same after this pandemic ends", "Am I just other people's images of myself superimposed onto meat", and "Who the f*ck drives anymore anyways?".

Using voice, sound recordings and electronics to instill the sense of loss that comes with leaving your loved ones behind, before crashing down hard. Care, for ones self and for others is at the centre of this project. The care to admit you're wrong, the care to decide for yourself, and the care to no longer romanticize what you don't have at the cost of what surrounds you.

Care can be something soft and profound, or something entirely stupid, and KERUB embraces both.

Inspired by artists such as SOPHIE, New Order, the generator they mistook for experimental metal project Sun O))), and the fungus they see on their forest walks. KERUB continues to branch out into popular music, wiggling their way into the public consciousness by producing for acts such as Sad China (ilyimy 2021) and live remixing Weezer despite their distaste for dad-rock.

An emerging voice in the Canadian Music scene, Hypernormalized is KERUB's next step into infamy.
